* 职位描述:

Synlico Inc. is at the forefront of transforming biology by leveraging causality to make cellular processes explainable, predictable, and engineerable. Our AI platform employs machine learning & deep learning, causal discovery & inference, and single-cell bioinformatics. Our unique approach lies in unraveling the causal relationships between cells' intracellular activities and their responses in the patients' heterogeneous microenvironment, predicting how cell modulation alters its behavior in patients. Our technology has a broad range of potential vertical applications in drug discovery, including target identification, therapy design, manufacturing, and biomarker discovery. For more information, please visit www.synlico.com.

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Data Curator (Remote, Intern) to conduct searches in public databases and distinguish different functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies. The role involves validating and entering accurate datasets, ensuring data consistency, and optimizing database structure for smooth information flow. The ideal candidate should have a strong focus on modern single-cell gene expression technologies and coding skills, demonstrate critical thinking, attention to detail, and consistency in delivering reliable results.

  • Conduct searches in public genomic databases (GEO, CellXGene, HumanCell Atlas).

  • Distinguish different functional genomics technologies and biological experimental methodologies to match the company's needs.

  • Understand necessary dataset qualifications.

  • Enter matching datasets to the database accurately with the utmost attention.

  • Validate/cross-check new datasets to avoid duplicates or problems.

  • Optimize database structure to optimize information flow.

Job Requirements:

  • Current Ph.D students in computational biology, bioinformatics, single-cell biology, genomics, immunology, biomedical engineering, or a related field.

  • Must be able to work 20 hours per week.

  • A strong technical focus and knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and      technologies such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the analysis of large-scale transcriptomics data      (especially scRNA-seq)

  • Experience identifying outliers for gene expression and splicing from RNA-seq data

  • Experience working with relevant genomic databases and browsers and their annotations

  • Proficiency in Git operations

  • Strong coding and visualization skills using Python or R.

  • Experienced in data wrangling using pandas or tidyverse.

  • Skilled in Linux command-line interface (CLI) operations.

  • Attention to Detail: Abilities to ensure accuracy and spot discrepancies or      duplications for data entry and validation.

  • Dig to the bottom: Abilities to track down the correct data source and not be      dissuaded by obstacles or incomplete information.

  • Critical Thinking: Abilities to assess, analyze, and question information critically is essential.

  • Consistency: Abilities to deliver steady and reliable results in a given time frame.
